Burst of Tulips

Why I love watercolor class with "Rocky" Alexander! Gaining skills...check. Trying something completely different...even better!

This isn't "quite" finished, as I only had one session to work, so still would like to go in and place the shadows, but this really brightened my day, so I'm sharing now!

Aloha!

  1. Thank you, Melanie! Really my teacher's influence! I wish I had discovered art classes 20 years ago...

  2. This is really beautiful already . Is that a Hydrangea in the background ?

  3. I think it's meant to be more of queen Anne's lace although I think of those as flatter looking. This was kind of a technique-loaded demo. Cheerful! And it is amazing what watercolors do...

  4. What a wonderful, fresh painting! One of my former watercolor teachers said, "Just watch the watercolor paint itself..." I think your skill had something to do with it!

  5. I'm an enthusiastic student!! Thanks, Chris! I learn so much from the blogs I follow, like all of yours' (and the ones I haven't managed to update my links to) and the comments which really fuel me. I feel like I'm finally getting to go to art school.
