A pair of Canadian Geese who seemed the dominant residents at a small water retention pond, although a solitary Great Blue Heron and pair of Mallard ducks were present. This pair stayed close together and kept a close eye on me. The reference was a photo I took in the early spring, so it'll be interesting to go back and see who's there now.
Done for the Daily Paintworks "critter" challenge. Just a little behind on those!

Aloha!
Beautiful brushwork and one of my favourite subjects!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Azra! We have a large group with goslings on a bigger pond near us, but I didn't see this pair at the little pond this week. Maybe it was a little too small!
DeleteMy new favorite!! Simply beautiful, Melle!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chris! It was done from the heart!
DeleteI really, really like this one. Great job on the reflections and ripples but after just seeing Canadian geese in Wichita, my heart just loved this pair.
ReplyDeleteThey have always been favorites of mine. They are regulars here; it's about time I painted them!
DeleteThis is beautiful, Melle! Warm greetings from Montreal, Canada. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda from Montreal! Love your profile picture!
ReplyDeleteI can almost hear them chatting :-) Great work on the water in movement and beautiful colors !
